Hosted by New York Disaster Interfaith Services (NYDIS) in collaboration with The Salvation Army, this Blended Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training provides an essential 8-hour certification course for community members, faith leaders, and professionals. Taking place on December 4 at The Salvation Army (120 W 14th Street, New York, NY), the training combines a 2-hour self-paced virtual module with a 6-hour in-person instructor-led session.
This globally recognized program introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges, offering practical strategies to support someone experiencing a crisis. Through role-playing, discussions, and interactive learning, the course equips attendees with tools to assess situations, provide initial help, and connect individuals with appropriate resources and care.
All materials and an MHFA manual are included, with certificates provided upon completion. The training is free for participants from faith-based organizations, and $50 for those from non-faith-based groups.
