Hosted by Universal Poets’ Club, LLC, Ladies Crystal Open Mic Battle for the Bag is a women-centered poetry event celebrating healing, spiritual growth, creativity, and community. Taking place on Sunday, July 12 at 837 Union Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215, the event invites women poets to compete, perform, and connect through the power of spoken word.
The evening features an open mic competition for a $1,000 prize, followed by performances from the Poetry Society of New York and Universal Poets’ Club. By centering women’s poetry and artistic expression, the event creates a space where creativity becomes a tool for reflection, empowerment, and emotional release.
A portion of ticket sales will support the NC Women’s Prison Book Project, extending the event’s impact beyond the stage. Attendees can also enjoy giveaways, including t-shirts for early guests and a small quartz crystal pendant as part of the event’s focus on wellness, support, and community care.
