Hosted by Edenas Children, Make-With-Data: Mapping Mental Health is a hands-on workshop that teaches mapping and data science skills through the lens of community mental health. Taking place on Thursday, August 27 at Pier 57 (25 11th Avenue, New York, NY), this in-person session invites participants to explore how data can help identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities for support.
Participants will examine questions such as where people are experiencing depression, what access to mental health support looks like, and whether conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia, and depression intersect with socioeconomic or environmental factors. Through guided activities, attendees will connect real-world challenges with data sources and scientific methods.
All experience levels are welcome, with beginners encouraged to attend. Participants should bring a laptop, though devices may be available upon request, and donations support program materials and curriculum development.
