Hosted by Salt of the Earth LCSW PLLC, Understanding Mental Health Through a Faith Lens is an interactive workshop designed to help participants explore mental health from both educational and faith-based perspectives. Taking place on Saturday, June 20 at Park Slope United Methodist Church in Brooklyn, this event provides a supportive environment for learning about emotional wellness, resilience, and healing.
The workshop examines the role mental health plays in overall well-being while addressing common misconceptions that can make these conversations difficult within faith communities. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how mental health affects daily life, how stress and trauma impact the mind and body, and practical strategies for managing emotions and promoting wellness.
Attendees will also explore the importance of healthy relationships, personal boundaries, and creating sustainable wellness plans that support long-term mental and emotional health. Grounded in a trauma-informed approach, the workshop encourages learning and reflection while allowing participants to engage at their own comfort level without any expectation to share personal experiences.
This event offers an opportunity to strengthen both mental wellness and spiritual resilience through education, community, and meaningful conversation.
